AT 2340 - Standardized Patients in Healthcare (3)

When Offered: Fall; Spring
An engaging course utilizing case-based learning to expose students to a variety of health conditions, settings, and clinicians through the directed development of health care simulations. Students will consider biological, environmental, and social factors as they develop whole-patient healthcare scenarios. They will then train and serve as standardized patients who take on the characteristics of real patients, legal guardians, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to enhance the learning of, and provide practical skills practice for, healthcare students. Emphasis will be placed on writing case scenarios and depicting those roles for students in the athletic training program.
