SPE 4216 - Strategies for Teaching Mathematics to Students with Disabilities: Adapted Curriculum (3)


When Offered: Fall
The purpose of this course is to teach candidates instructional principles of remediation in mathematics for students with disabilities who are on the adapted curriculum. Throughout the course, emphasis is placed on instructional modifications for establishing a remedial instruction program in mathematics. Candidates will become familiar with and implement evidence-based instructional approaches and strategies for teaching students with developmental disabilities and in need of extensive supports. This course is required for candidates majoring in Special Education with a concentration in Adapted Curriculum K-12, but may be taken by Special Education- General Curriculum majors. 
Prerequisite: CI 4210 /SPE 4210 .
