ANT 3800 - Ethnographic Writing (3) When Offered: On Demand This course examines different genres of writing in the subfield of sociocultural anthropology, with focus on the process by which anthropologists craft the experience of field-based research into published writing. Students will explore the writing of contemporary anthropologists to study elements of style, rhetorical and compositional variation, the crafting of research materials (observation, dialogue, photography) into text, and the citational and bibliographic conventions of the discipline. A latter section of the course will be organized as a writing workshop, in which students write together, share their writing, read the work of their peers, and engage in the process of revising and refining their own anthropological writing. Prerequisites: ANT 2215 . Prerequisite or Corequisite: R_C 2001 or its equivalent
