C_S 1440 - Computer Science I (4)


When Offered: Fall; Spring
A first programming course using an object-oriented language. Emphasis is placed on problem-solving and appropriate programming standards. Topics include: classes, objects, data types, expressions, conditional statements, loops, strings, arrays, collections, debugging, inheritance, and polymorphism.

Lecture three hours, laboratory two hours.
Prerequisite: MAT 1025 Â (with minimum grade of C- (1.7)); OR MAT 1110 ; OR corequisite of MAT 1110 ; OR satisfactory score on the Calculus Readiness Test.
