ART 1232 - Introduction to Typography (3)

When Offered: Spring
This course introduces the fundamentals of typography, exploring the form, function, and history of type in visual communication. Students will engage in hands-on projects that examine type classifications, typographic hierarchy, and the expressive potential of type. Through analysis and experimentation, the course encourages students to look closely at letterforms and understand how typography shapes meaning. Studio six hours.
Prerequisites: ART 1006 and ART 1132.
Prerequisite or corequisite: ART 1001.
