NUR 3450 - Mental Health and Nursing Care of Communities (5)

When Offered: Spring
This course provides the theoretical base for identification and provision of mental health care for individuals and community health care for families and small groups. Communication skills with individuals, families, and communities as well as the therapeutic nurse-client relationship are emphasized. This course examines the interrelationship among health promotion, health maintenance and health restoration across the lifespan and explores the impacts of socioeconomic, structural, and environmental systems and conditions on health and well-being.
Prerequisites: NUR 3040 , NUR 3115 , NUR 3300 , NUR 3302 , and NUR 3400 .
Corequisite: NUR 3452 .
