VTN 2998 - Clinical Externship (1-3)

This course consists of supervised clinical experience in a workplace approved by the instructor. (Note: A minimum of 70 hours per hour of credit is required). The clinical externship is intended to provide students with the hands-on experience necessary to develop the skills needed by veterinary technicians. Students will perform specific essential skills along with completing a minimum of 70 hours per hour of credit. Students will demonstrate ability to perform skills to the clinical site supervisor, who will verify that the student has performed each skill satisfactorily.
Graded on an S/U basis.
Prerequisite: Permission of the instructor. VTN 1030 with a minimum grade of “C” (2.0), VTN 1040, VTN 2010, VTN 2020, VTN 2030, VTN 2060.
Prerequisite or Corequisite: VTN 2050, and either VTN 2070 and VTN 2080, or VTN 2050 and VTN 2090. VTN prerequisite courses must be completed with a minimum grade of “C” (2.0).
