General Education Requirements (44 Hours)


General Education Requirements  

Six hours of major requirements fulfill General Education requirements.

Professional Education Requirements (24 Hours)


A minimum grade of “C” (2.0) must be earned in all Professional Education Courses by Teacher Education majors.

NOTE:


To be admitted to the Teacher Education, students must have a minimum 2.7 cumulative GPA, completed 45 semester hours, completed criminal background check and successfully completed testing requirements for Reading, Writing and Math areas of the PRAXIS I CORE (or exempt based on SAT or ACT scores). See Admission to Teacher Education . Minimum 2.7 cumulative GPA required for admission to Teacher Education, Student Teaching and graduation.

Business Foundation Requirements (9 Hours)


Note


Students are required to take 50 hours from a senior institution

# Cannot be taken before being admitted to Teacher Education.
+ Must be completed with a minimum grade of “C” (2.0)
* May be double counted in Gen Ed
++ Must have an average of “C” (2.0) or better
@ Senior standing (juniors may enroll with permission of the department)

Second Academic Concentration (18 Hours)


Total of 18 SH required. (9 SH General education and/or major).

A student must have at least a 2.70 grade-point average to be admitted to the teacher education program and must maintain a 2.70 grade-point average overall through student teaching.
