Categories and Designations	18	Complete 18 credit hours from three Categories: Sustainability and Climate Literacy (SCL), Intercultural Literacy (ICL), and Humanity and Its Systems (HUM). At least 3 credit hours must be taken from each Category, and the remaining 9 credit hours can be from any of the three categories. Designation Requirements: Within these 18 credit hours, you must complete 3 credit hours from each of the following Designations: Fine Arts (FA), Historical Studies (HS), Literary Studies (LS), and Social Science (SS).

PH GPA requirements: 2.5 cumulative GPA required for declaration and 2.5 cumulative GPA required for graduation. There are no GPA retention requirements. The Beaver College of Health Sciences requires a minimum 2.0 major GPA for graduation.
PH grade requirements: All PH majors must earn a minimum grade of “C” (2.0) in all PH core courses.
15 credit hours of guided electives or a minor is required. If a minor is chosen that requires more or less than 15 hours, general electives will need to be adjusted accordingly.
18 credit hours in major and 9 credit hours in minor must be at App State.
25% of the degree hours must be in residency at App State.
As stated in the catalog, the final responsibility for meeting graduation requirements remains with the student.
