ANT 3750 - Communicating Anthropological Science (3) [WID] When Offered: Fall GEN ED: Junior Writing in the Discipline (WID) Like many scientific fields, Anthropological Science has a communication problem. Not only do most members of the public not know what Anthropology is, or that Anthropologists are deeply and critically engaged with science, but many misconceptions about “human nature” continue to enjoy uncritical acceptance by the public. This course will focus on building student skills in effective communication and civil engagement with different types of audiences about topics in Anthropology, with a particular emphasis on communicating about research produced using the scientific method.
NOTE: It is recommended that students complete ANT 2215, ANT 2221, and 2230 before enrolling in this course.
Prerequisite(s): ANT 2215 , ANT 2221 , or ANT 2230 , with all three courses recommended; and R_C 2001 or its equivalent.
