GEN ED: (PHY 1170 and PHY 1180 ) Science Inquiry Perspective (Theme: “Physics with Calculus”)
An analytical and quantitative treatment of physics at a somewhat more advanced level than the PHY 1123-PHY 1124 sequence using calculus. Intended primarily for students majoring in the natural sciences, mathematical sciences, and pre-engineering. Topics covered include mechanics, heat, light, sound, electricity, magnetism, and quantum phenomena.
Prerequisite: Demonstrated Readiness for College-level Math. Corequisite for PHY 1170: MAT 1110. Prerequisite or corequisite: PHY 1160.
